This LS 2014 Elections ... will you, the voter, make a promise ?

“The AAP will make no promises to you. Instead it will ask you to make a promise. This time you will not cast your vote on the basis of kinship. You will forget caste; you will drive away the distributors of alcohol and money. AAP has not come to ask you for your vote. If there is anything we ask of you, it is to have faith in yourselves; and to listen to the voice of your soul. This election is not about the victory or defeat of political parties; it is about victory or defeat within ourselves. In front of the voting machine, we must think of the future of our children, the future of our city and our dreams for the future of our country.” Short link

Meera Sanyal appeals to citizens of South Mumbai

Dear Fellow citizens of South Mumbai

I believe that every citizen of India who cares about our country must take a stand in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. India is at a tipping point. We desperately need a culture of clean politics and sensible economics, and governance that is clean, competent and compassionate. We need leaders with ideals, integrity and intellect.

This election cycle isn’t just about corruption, or even bad governance -- it’s about leveling the playing field. It’s about who we are as a people, and what we stand for as a nation. It’s about the quality, credibility and integrity of the issues that get argued, hashed out and decided every single day at the Centre and across the nation – issues like women's safety, health care, education and the economy that impact millions. It’s about what we can do, as voters, to make sure everybody gets a fair deal. Not just a few, or those with deep pockets. In short, this is about India’s character.

Reform will only occur at a moment of crisis. The 2014 election cycle is wrought with the worst political corruption in India's history. We are harnessing the outcomes of the crisis - anger and demands for ambitious change - and we want you to be a part of the solution.
We want you to be the change.

This is a campaign driven by volunteers not cash - so I truly value your support. You can help bring change by volunteering even a single hour of your time.

Please register as a volunteer on and we will get back to you, right away.

It is time for a new paradigm in India's politics and I am committed to spend the rest of my life in the service of our nation. Come, join our fight.

Meera Sanyal
AAP LS -2014 Candidate for Mumbai South.
